Kai Kokubunji Temple Remains
Built in 741 by Emperor Shomu in Ichinomiya-cho, Fuefuki City, the “Kai Kokubunji Temple” has none of its buildings remaining but many traces of them in the precinct. Present now are some large cornerstones laid alongside, from which it is assumed that a sizable structure must have stood there. Equipped with restrooms and a parking lot, it is about a 15-minute drive from Isawa Onsen Station.
